Celebrating the Heart of San Angelo
New Downtown Banners Spotlight Local Culture & Creativity
Downtown San Angelo is getting a fresh splash of color and community pride with the launch of the
“Celebrating Downtown” banner project. A total of 40 vibrant banners are now being installed on
streetlights throughout the city center, adding artistic flair and highlighting the area’s rich culture and charm.
These eye-catching banners feature a mix of photographs and artistic depictions of San Angelo landmarks,
including Paintbrush Alley, City Hall, the whimsical “Sheep Spectacular,” and “The Pearls of the Conchos.”
Interwoven with these images are spirited messages encouraging residents and visitors alike to “shop local,”
“dine local,” and “play local.”
The banners currently line Twohig Avenue, Chadbourne Street, Concho Avenue, and Irving Street, with plans
for future expansion onto Beauregard Avenue and additional segments of Chadbourne. More than just
décor, this project is a visual celebration of San Angelo’s downtown—inviting the community to take pride in
the places and people that make the city unique.
